Blake Lively was born on 25 August 1987 in Los Angeles, California in 1987. Lively and her four siblings all grew up to work in the entertainment industry, which seems natural as her father (Ernie Lively) is an actor and her mother (Elaine Lively) is a talent manager.
Lively's career started at the age of 11 when she appeared in the film Sandman, which was directed by her father. It wasn't until a few years later, when she she appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, that she attracted the attention of critics. In 2007, she shot to fame as a result of her breakout role as Serena van der Woodsen on CW's hit show Gossip Girl. Lively has also appeared in such films The Town, Green Lantern, and Savages. She has also won various awards such as the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress Drama.
In 2012 she married Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, who she met on the set of Green Lantern. The actress also enjoys cooking, and has taken a tailor made course at Le Cordon Bleu and invented a S'mores cupcake to be sold in Sprinkles bakeries.
