L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Blake Lively is currently in full promotion mode for The Age of Adaline, which is keeping the new mom busy, but not too busy to pull off two great hairstyles in one night! At the New York City premiere last week, the blonde beauty hit the red carpet with perfect Hollywood waves, before switching to an edgy chignon updo for the after party.
You can find out how to recreate Blake's chignon by following the tutorial below.
Get the look
Starting with dry hair, spritz your locks with a straightening heat protection spray. Use a comb to get even coverage, then straighten your hair in sections.
When your hair is completely straight, smooth some hair oil through the ends to nourish and add shine.
Section off the hair on top and spray the roots with a volumizing hairspray. Massage the roots with your fingertips to add height. You can also use a fine-tooth comb to tease the hair if necessary.
When you're happy with the shape, sweep the hair on top into a small bouffant and secure at the back with pins.
Gather the rest of your hair into a ponytail, but when you pull it through the elastic for the last time, stop halfway so you get a loop. Twist the loop around until it falls flat, with the holes at the sides. Wrap the loose ends around the hair tie to camouflage it, then pin it underneath.
To complete the look, mist your hair all over with a high-shine finishing spray to add shine and tame flyaways.
