For anyone with especially thin or fine hair, one of the biggest hairstyle challenges is creating volume and movement. With a wavy bob hairstyle à la Karlie Kloss, however, both are easier and less time consuming than you might think.
What makes wavy hair so great?
All the kinks and curves of wavy hair create a fuller looking hairstyle by taking up more space than straight strands, thus creating the illusion of a thicker, more voluminous style. It all make total sense when you think about it!
Even if your hair isn't naturally wavy, it isn't hard to fake a more voluminous hairstyle with a couple of simple styling tricks.
Get the look
Spray your hair all over with a wave creating heat protectant spray. Use a comb to get even coverage throughout.
Blow-dry your hair in medium-sized twisted sections. Once each section has been twisted and dried, leave it alone to cool while you repeat the process all around your head.
Part your hair wherever you want, then mist it with a generous amount of hairspray and scrunch with your hands to finish. If you want more texture, scrunch in some matte styling putty, too.
Heat-free styling while you sleep
If you're trying to cut down on heat styling or just don't get up in time for a blow-dry of any kind, spray your hair with sea salt spray the night before, then braid it into two pigtails before you go to sleep. Shake your hair out in the morning, mist it with hairspray, and you're all set!
