It doesn't matter if you're jetting off on vacation or staying at home this summer, finding new and interesting ways to put your hair up is essential to keeping your cool without getting stuck in a hairstyle rut - i.e. the same scraped back ponytail for approximately six consecutive weeks. The good news is that this doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, all you really have to do is take that pony and give it a little update!
Styles with loose bangs at the front, this cute braided style has a pretty, carefree feel about it. To find out how to get the look, just follow the tutorial below...
Starting with damp hair, apply fixing mousse evenly throughout. Blow-dry your hair using a paddle brush or, if you want more texture, just rough dry it without a brush.
Once dried, apply a serum to add shine and banish any remaining flyaways.
Gather your hair back into a ponytail. You can tie it high or low, it's your choice.
Split the pony into several smaller, uneven sections and braid each one down to the ends. To add detail, braid some pieces with a regular three strand technique then try a rope twist or mini fishtail for the others.
Tease some hair loose at the front to frame your face then fix your style with a generous mist of finishing spray to complete the look. This will lock in your style and keep frizz at bay.
What do you think? Could this be your new favorite summer ponytail?
