When you live inland, achieving the perfect surf-hair texture can seem like a challenge. The good news is that a few super useful styling products are available to help you fake it sans real sea water. The key to a beach-fresh look is a controlled, piecey finish. Making this happen is really easy - you just need to know how to style your ends and sculpt the rest of your hair to give you good strand separation. Find out what you need to do by following the step-by-step tutorial below.
Get the look
Towel-dry your hair after washing it to remove as much excess moisture as possible the sweep it all over to one side with your hands.
Warm a very small amount of L'Oréal Paris #TXT Deconstructing Cream Wax in your hands then work it through all of your hair in quick sweeping motions.
With a little more wax, tousle and twist the ends of your hair until you have plenty of separated pieces. This is what will give you that laid back texture which defines all beachy hairstyles.
Top tip - Apply more product as needed but take care to use only the bare minimum. Though you want a good amount of hold, this hairstyle is supposed to look natural and effortless, not gloopy and overdone.
Shape the hair once more with your hands, double check the back and you're good to go!
If you want a more subtle result, spray salt spray through damp hair and let it air dry naturally. You'll still get a tousled finish but your hair will be a little looser.
