We all get tired of our habitual hairstyles periodically and look to switch things up. A great place to start is by scouring the runways this season and soaking up all the hairstyles out there. Finding one that is fashion-forward but that will work in your daily life is a gold ticket to finding your style. Get inspired and creative until you settle into a couple styles that really stick.

The signature side cut

So, it's become apparent that throwing off the symmetry of your hair a bit is the key to cool for men's hairstyles this season. You can momentarily release your grip on any slicked back looks, super short fades, or that forward wave, and opt for something a bit more extreme, but still very workable!

Styles ranging from deep side -parts to Mohawks (laid flat) are where it's at right now. Of course the resulting style will depend on the actual cut of your hair, but knowing that side-parting is where it's at is a solid start. Even short hair can be styled to the side with the right technique and product. Oh, and let's not forget the added allure of sunglasses to this look!

1/ Step 1

Okay, for starters you'll need to pick the side you want your part to be on - this is up to you. Next, you'll want to get your hair pretty straight. Blow-dry the upper sections using a brush.

2/ Step 2

Once your hair's dry, apply hair wax so that you can begin styling. Choose whether you'd like the look to be slightly disheveled, smooth, or ultra-sleek. Use more texturizing product for the disheveled version and more holding product for the ultra-sleek version. Play with your hair to create the look you want while retaining the dramatic side-parting.

3/ Step 3

Once you've got your side-look, don't forget to add those sunglasses. And, that's how it feels to get your hands dirty in hair fashion.
