When you just can't decide what to do with your hair, a half-up style is probably the best option. It allows you to keep the bulk of your hair up and off your face but still retains plenty of movement. This mini bun style is a prime example of just how awesome half-up styles can be.
This look is technically just a scaled-down version of an actual updo, a bun, so it doesn't require any real compromise on the 'up' section. Equally, the 'down' half is also quite prominent, too. A great 'do for thicker hair, this style is also really easy to achieve. To recreate it on your own hair, just follow the tutorial below...
What you need:
Hot Straight Spritz
If your hair is naturally straight or has recently been styled straight, you can skip this step. If not, apply Hot Straight Spritz evenly throughout the hair and run a flat iron through it. Straighten the hair in sections, starting with the bottom layers and work your way up.
Brush hair through then gather the top layers of hair into a mini ponytail on top of your head. Smooth the hair with a brush as you pull it up to eliminate any bumps then secure with a small hair tie.
Twist the mini pony and wind it down into a bun shape. Use two or three pins to hold it in place then mist with finishing spray for plenty of hold and added shine.
The really great thing about this style is that it's so versatile. As well as being right on-trend, it also works really well for a relaxed chic look AND it's totally appropriate for more polished attire. Work or play, this style could be perfect for you!
