Bangs are a hairstyle staple that never go out of style, presumably because there are so many different kinds to choose from. One of our favorite fringes is this simple sideswept look. This is the kind of style you should get if you aren't 100% sure you want bangs. It has plenty of length and can be moved from side to side, making it more versatile than short micro bangs or something ultra-blunt.

If you decide you like it, keep it. If you decide you want to try something that falls a little higher, go for it! If you try it, see the results and decide you don't want bangs after all, this cut won't take long to grow back into the rest of your hair and off of your forehead for good.

As with any fringe, keeping longish sideswept bangs looking their best requires regular trims, if only to maintain a good line of vision for the eye they'll otherwise cover. You may also find that your bangs start behaving strangely if you go too long between salon visits.

Depending on your hair's natural state, you may need to commit to a certain amount of styling to get your bangs looking just right. The easiest way to whip them into shape is by applying a straightening cream, then blowdrying them in the direction you want them to fall. When you're done, you can use a small amount of pomade for added hold, or to create a subtly piecey finish.

What do you think? Can you see yourself with sideswept bangs?
