As of late, braids and buns are two of the most common hairstyle trends on the red carpet and runway. But when put together, the two looks make for one stylish duo, as proven by L'Oreal spokesmodel Barbara Palvin who incorporated two unique braids into her low up-do for the 73rd annunal Venice Film Festival.
The young muse attended the festival's opening ceremony and premiere of La La Land on August 31st wearing a gorgeous white halter gown with feminine ruffles and a sheer train following closely behind her. Her hair was pulled back into a low bun that came together with the help of two braids on each side of her head.
Want to adopt Barbara's red carpet look for everyday? Here's how!
STEP-BY-STEP: RE-CREATE BARBARA PALVIN'S BRAIDED UP-DO
First off, you're going to want to create volume at your roots. So start off by backcombing your hair at the roots, spraying it with a volumizing hair spray, then brushing it gently down with a brush. Remember: it's best to work with hair that isn't freshly washed to ensure a 'do that lasts.
Next, section your hair off into three sections – two smaller sections on each side of your head near the ears and one section in the middle of your head. Pull the middle section back into a low bun at the nape of your neck, twisting the hair around itself to create a messy, twisted look. Secure with an elastic and bobby pins if needed and loosen up a few pieces around the bun to create a more tousled appearance.
Next, take one section of hair from one side of your head, and French braid it towards the bun at the back of your head. When you run out of hair to French braid, transition to a classic braid until you run out of hair. Drag the end of this braid through the middle of your bun and secure with bobby pins.
Take the remaining section of hair from the other side of your head and begin a classic braid moving towards the back of your head. Once you've run out of hair, situate this braid at the top part of the bun, underneath the first braid and secure with bobby pins.
Spray your entire head with strong hold, voluminous hairspray and take in the compliments!
