If you're in need of any kind of hairstyle inspiration whatsoever, the 2014 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards has got you covered. With the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Rowland, Ireland Baldwin and Solange Knowles taking to the red carpet, there were more well-coiffed superstars than you could shake a stick - or a hairbrush - at.
Above, we've put together a gallery of our favorite styles from the event. From Amber Rose's platinum buzz cut to Lorde's trademark mane, there's something for everyone. All you need to do is scroll through and decide which 'do to steal first!

Half the hawk, all of the fun
Singing sensation and all-round lovely lady Demi Lovato was rocking her brunette half-hawk like nobody's business. If you're feeling adventurous (but not Amber Rose adventurous) this could be the perfect cut for you.
One third of the best Destiny's Child lineup, Kelly Rowland, went for a look that was fit for a princess - a braided crown. This style is perfect for keeping all of your hair up and under control and, though it looks complicated, you can master this pretty updo with our easy tutorial. Just don't forget the hairspray!
While Katy Perry and Riff Raff walked the red carpet in what was basically a pre-Halloween tribute to Britney and Justin circa 2001, Kylie Jenner opted for a nineties-inspired beauty look, complete with perfectly disheveled, glossy hairstyle. By scrunching a small amount of wax through the ends and mid-lengths, you can recreate her mussed finish on your own hair in less than five minutes.
Supermodel Jourdan Dunn showed up to the VMAs her locks styled into a super sleek blunt bob with a perfectly defined side part. After this little display, all explanations of the phrase "not a hair out of place" should be replaced with a picture her on the MTV red carpet. Can she do no wrong?
Straight down the middle
British singer Jessie J posed for the cameras with her sleek dark hair parted right down the middle. Another great style that proves just how important your part can be in relation to your whole look, it drew attention to the center of her face, highlighting the eyes, nose and lips. The really good news is that with a frizz-banishing straightening cream, a flat iron and a tail comb, this look can be easily imitated in about 15 minutes.
Other notable looks
Victoria Justice and Ireland Baldwin both appeared with braided styles, J-Lo teamed her ultra-glam dress with a simple straight style and Miley Cyrus opted for a simple, slightly windswept approach to her now trademark undercut.
What do think? Which VMA hairstyle would you give an award to?
