Girls star Jemima Kirke is known for her trademark mane of long, blonde, glossy waves, but earlier this week, she was spotted at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City with pastel pink tresses. Is it just us, or is this a totally Jessa move to pull?
1/ Color of the moment
Pastels are having a real moment right now. With famous fans including Nicole Richie, Dascha Polanco and Chloe Grace Moretz to name but a few, Jemima's in some very stylish company. Jemima's approach to the look is definitely one of our favorites. By coloring her hair a lighter, almost platinum shade of blonde, then layering the pink over that, she wound up with an edgy yet balanced look.
Multi-toned color is perfectly suited to Jemima Kirke's loose, wavy texture. The subtle movement helps to showcase the contrast, ensuring the pinks and blondes catch the light (or flashbulbs in this case) in all the right places. If you have an ombre or pastel dye, or are thinking about getting one, this is definitely something to bear in mind!
2/ Try it yourself
If pink hair seems a little intimidating to get right off the bat, you can always work your way up to it. Start with a delicate ombre dye and build on it. That way, you'll be able to decide how pink you want to go.
Another thing to consider is that, even if it seems like it won't work, pastel hair can actually look really great on just about anyone!
What do you think? Will you be following Jemima Kirke's lead?
