There are always going to be certain times when you want to look pulled together, whether it's for a job interview, an important meeting or some kind of formal event. Your hair, especially, needs to be on its best behaviour but that can seem less than easy to achieve when you have a head full of natural curls.
The best way to style curls is in such a way that showcases your hair's natural texture, but doesn't allow it to overwhelm your look. Aim for a hairstyle that still has plenty of movement; just make sure it's one that isn't too unkempt. There's no denying that in all of the formal scenarios mentioned above, you'll probably want to look as though you've made a reasonable amount of effort with your hair.
What you need:
Deconstructing Cream Wax
Step one: Start by warming some Deconstructing Cream Wax in your hands. To do this, place a little on your fingertips and rub your hands together.
Step two: Work the gum back through all of your hair in sweeping backward motions. Add more as your go. This will ensure you avoid overloading your hair right at the beginning. You want your hair to look as natural as possible, not plastered onto your head.
Step three: Shape and sculpt your hair as you like with your hands. To get extra height, massage the hair at the roots before you shape it. If it's a personal preference, you can part your hair to one side using a wide-tooth comb for a well-groomed look.
Step four: Tousle and twist small sections of hair to add texture and use your hands for any final touch-ups.
