L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Blake Lively is famous for her acting talent, great sense of style and beautiful hair - all of which makes her a fantastic source of hairstyle inspiration. Take her bubble pony from the Met Ball 2013, for example. It was a hairdo that brought the humble pony right up to date with some extra detail and added volume.
If you want to get Blake's hair (and who doesn't?) a few simple styling techniques and the right products will help you to do just that in no time!
1/ You'll need:
Comb or bristle brush
4 hair elastics
2/ Step one
After washing and towel-drying your hair, apply strong hold hairspray generously to the roots and along the lengths.
3/ Step two
Next, sweep all the hair back into a high pony and secure with a hair tie. Wrap a small strand of hair around the base of the pony to hide the elastic and secure underneath with a bobby pin.
4/ Step three
Using a comb, tease the pony all the way down, applying more hairspray as you go. If you prefer, use a bristle brush instead.
5/ Step four
Tie a second hair elastic around the pony about two inches down from where you secured the first one. Pull out the hair between the two elastics to create more volume and use a strand of hair from the lower part of the pony to hide the tie. You can either tuck the strand into the hair elastic or secure with a bobby pin underneath. Repeat this step until you have at least three 'bubbles'.
6/ Step five
Finally, mist generously with hairspray and use your fingers to scrunch and shape the bubbles until you have just the amount of volume you want.
And hey presto! You have the hair of a famous person!
