If you're looking for a simple updo that will look great without any complicated styling techniques, you might just have found it; introducing the sleek low knot. It's essentially just a low ballerina bun with plenty of shine and a highly polished finish.
If you're looking for a hairstyle to showcase some bold makeup on a night out while keeping your hair totally under control on the dance floor, this could be it.
Step one: Starting with freshly washed, towel-dried hair, apply some fixing mousse. Scrunch it evenly through your hair from roots to ends then blow-dry using a round brush to guide the hair as straight as possible. It doesn't have to be perfect; you are going to pull it all back into an updo after all!
Step two: Once dried, part your hair with a tail comb then smooth it all back off your face.
Step three: Gather all of the hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck and secure with a hair tie. Use a brush or a comb to eliminate bumps as you pull your hair back, and make sure the pony is secured tightly.
Step four: Twist the pony then wind it around to form a tight, smooth bun and pin.
Step five: To tame any flyaways, spray some hairspray onto the palm of your hand then firmly smooth down the top and sides of your hair. You may need to do this twice is your hair is particularly prone to frizz. If you want an ultra-sleek, almost wet-look finish, smooth a small amount of shine wax over your hair instead, just be careful not to overload it.
Step five: Finish with a generous mist of finishing spray for long-lasting hold.
