Braided updos are kind of sneaky. They come across as intricate little tricksters when in fact they can actually be pretty simple (sometimes). Take this crown braid for example. It's essentially just two pigtails and a bunch of bobby pins but you wouldn't necessarily realize that at first glance. Ok, all braided updos are tricksters...
If you would like to try this style on your own hair, read on!
What you need:
Step one: Brush your hair through to remove any knots before you start the use a tail comb to part your hair in the middle. You can go slightly off-center if you prefer.
Step two: Using your part as a guide, divide all of your hair into two halves.
Step three: Secure the hair into pigtails then braid the lengths. You can use a regular three-strand technique or something a little more intricate like a fishtail or rope twist style instead. It's all up to you!
Top tip - Alternatively, you can do this hairstyle as a half-up 'do by skipping step two and braiding smaller sections of hair from behind each ear to make a mini-crow/headband.
Step four: Pull the braids up over your head to form the crown. Tuck the ends underneath and pin at regular intervals to hold it all in place.
Step five: Mist with finishing pray to add extra shine and keep flyaways to a minimum. You can make the style appear a little softer by pulling a few wispy strands of hair loose to frame your face.
