If you have fine strands, crimped hairstyles will be perfect for you! When you crimp your hair, you lend texture and dimension to your mane and make it appear visually voluminous. But that doesn't mean the rest of us can't sport a sexy, textured hairstyle!
Truth is, crimps look good on just about any woman with shoulder-length to long hair. If you have very short hair, it's better not to crimp too many sections, otherwise your mane may look big and your hairstyle may lose its natural appeal.

Brush your hair thoroughly and make a middle part. If your hair is wet, blow dry it till it is about 80% dry.
Divide your hair on each side of the part into 3-4 sections of equal thickness. Make a regular braid with each section and secure the end with elastic.
- If you have fine hair, you should get at least 2 braids on either side of the hair part and a total of 4 braids.
- If you have thick hair, you should be able to make 3-4 braids on either side and a total of about 6-8 thin braids.
Mist your braids with a good quality heat protectant hairspray before pressing them with a flat iron. This will help to set your braids and lock the texture.
You can leave your braids overnight or let them set for at least half an hour before untying them.
Untie your braids to get a perfectly crimpled mane! Should you want, you can run your fingers through your hair to break up the super-tight curls. Spritz your favorite fine control hairspray to set your crimpled hairstyle for long wear!
Wear your hair loose or tie it up in a ponytail - either way you'll look gorgeous!
