Hippie Hair: The French Girl Fringe
From the article : Hippie Hair: The French Girl Fringe
Summer hair makes us think of tousled strands and effortless beach waves. With festival season in full swing, lazy beach days, and nights spent on patios in the balmy heat, it's important to have a low-maintenance go to look that requires minimal styling.
That's why we're loving the newest take on the bohemian mane. The slightly disheveled, uneven fringe makes us think of Brigitte Bardot and Sienna Miller in the film Alfie. It's sexy and mysterious...and best of all, since the fringe is longer than traditional bangs, you don't always have to worry about styling them.
What makes this hairstyle so cool is the fact that it combines two of our favourite hair trends and puts a French twist on messy bed head hair. Think Caroline De Maigret meets Stevie Nicks, and you have a look that's ultra chic and trendy. It's a Hollywood favourite as well, made popular by celebrities like Hailey Baldwin, Dakota Johnson, and Jennifer Garner.
WHAT TO ASK FOR
Ask your hairdresser for long layers throughout and some wispy bangs that hit at eye level. This will give your hair some natural shape and volume. She might add some face framing pieces to blend in the fringe. From some added dimension, try getting some balayage or highlights done on your strands. French women are rumoured to cut their own hair, so you want to make sure you preserve the texture and thickness...steer clear of getting it razor cut as this will just lead to frizz.
HOW TO STYLE
This look isn't for those who liked to have perfectly coiffed hair. If you want to let it air dry, use a volumizing mousse and an anti frizz serum to help replenish dry hair and prevent fly aways. Styling your fringe is optional, but you can always use a round brush and a blow dryer to style them towards your face for some extra body. For a more put together look, rough dry the hair and use a curling wand to curl random pieces of your hair. Be sure to curl strands in alternating directions.
