Lately, we've been seeing more and more hairstyles with visible bobby pins used as an accessory, rather than a necessary structural component. This cute half-up style with crisscrossed pins, as seen at Australian Fashion Week, is one of our favorite ways to wear the trend.
To find out how to recreate it on your own hair, follow the tutorial below.

Starting with clean, damp, apply a smoothing cream throughout. Use a wide-tooth comb to get even coverage from roots to ends for the best results and most effective heat protection.
Blow-dry your hair straight with the concentrator attached to your dryer. Use a paddle brush to keep each section of hair flat while keeping the airflow pointed downward.
When your hair is totally dry, brush it and run some oil or serum - whichever works best for you - through the mid-lengths and ends to add shine and nourish your mane after heat styling.
On either side of your face, section off two pieces of hair - aim for 1 1/2", but the size all depends on how thick your hair is. Twist these pieces inward, then join them together at the back of your head. Secure the twist with two crisscrossed bobby pins. Use large pins that contrast with your hair color to maximize the visual impact.
To get a glossy sheen, keep flyaways at bay and eliminate frizz, mist your completed style generously with a high-shine finishing spray.
