Ponytails are great go-to hairstyles, especially when styled with a retro twist. We love this chic sixties-inspired pony for long hair because it's really say to recreate, it can be worn anywhere, and it looks really cute! To find out how to style it on your own mane, just follow the tutorial below.
Get the look
Starting with towel dried hair, scrunch some volumizing mousse throughout and rough dry until your locks are only slightly damp.
When the hair is about 80% dry, use a medium-sized round brush to smooth the hair and curve the ends as you dry each section of hair completely. If necessary, you can use a flat iron for any touch ups once the hair is completely dry.
Once dried, brush your hair to smooth it, then apply a volumizing spray to the roots at the crown of your head.
Lift the hair you sprayed and gently tease it from behind with a fine-tooth comb to add volume, then gently smooth it back without crushing the added height.
Gather your hair into a low ponytail and tie. Take a piece of the hair from the pony, wrap it tightly around the base to camouflage the elastic and secure with a bobby pin underneath.
Complete the look with plenty of high-shine finishing spray. This will help to prevent frizz and eliminate any flyaways that may have appeared while styling your pony.
