If you like to put a vintage spin on your beauty look, we have the perfect hairstyle for you in the form of this messy beehive ponytail. It's a retro look that works wonders on medium-length and long hair, and it's a great way to deal with dirty roots, too!
To find out how to recreate the style on your own hair, just follow the tutorial below.

Start by creating a side part with a tail comb. It doesn't matter which side you choose, just go with whatever feels most comfortable.
Section off your bangs or some small pieces of hair on either side of your face and tuck them behind your ears.
Spray the roots on top and at the crown of your head with a volume-enhancing hairspray, then gently tease the hair to build volume. To do this, lift the hair you want to tease with one hand, then gently backcomb it from behind.
Keep teasing until you're happy with the amount of height, then gently sweep all of your hair back with your hands.
Secure the bouffant at the back with bobby pins, then gather the loose ends into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. To hide the elastic, wrap a small piece of hair from the pony around the base and secure it underneath with another pin.
To complete the look, mist your new beehive ponytail generously with hairspray. Not only will this give your 'do long-lasting hold, it will also seal it against the elements and help to prevent unwanted frizz and flyaways.
