Half-up hairstyles are great for all kinds of reasons, especially during winter because they can be styled to fit under your favorite hats! This cute half-up bun is a great example and only takes a few minutes to style.
To find out how to get the look, just follow the tutorial below.
Get the look
Starting with damp hair, apply a straightening cream evenly throughout. Use a comb to ensure good coverage from roots to ends.
Blow-dry your hair in sections - top, middle and nape - using the concentrator attachment to minimize frizz. To guide the hair straight, a paddle brush is best as it lays the hair out flat. Don't worry if your hair doesn't end up perfectly poker-like, you just want your hair to be straight-ish.
Once everything is completely dry, brush your hair through to smooth it, then soothe any remaining frizz and flyaways with a serum. You can also use a hair oil to add shine and keep your ends nourished before moving onto the next step.
Loosely section off the top layers of your hair, leaving the bulk of it loose underneath. Split the sectioned hair into two halves, twist them a little, then tie them in a knot approximately an inch above the nape of your neck.
Secure the knot with a bobby pin, then complete the look with a generous mist of finishing spray. That's it!
