Freida Pinto and Lea Michele have a lot in common: they're both L'Oréal Paris spokesmodels, they're both actresses, and they both have a knack for getting their red carpet hairstyles right every single time.
Recently, both ladies have attended separate glitzy events - the 100th White House Correspondent's dinner and LA premiere of Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return respectively - with perfectly-coiffed updos.
The question is, which style would you wear for a glamorous night out of your own?
Whenever Freida makes an appearance, she never seems to have a hair out of place... unless she means to. This artfully windswept chignon had an airy feel to it that remained understated and entirely elegant. Combined with her powder pink gown, this hairstyle made for a very glamorous look.
If you want to try this hairstyle on your own tresses, you can because it's surprisingly easy to recreate. Blow-dry your hair straight with a fixing mousse then part your hair in the middle. Gather it all back into a low pony then twist the hair into a bun and pin. Lightly muss the sides with your fingertips to create a subtle windswept feel and fix the whole thing with finishing spray.
Glee star Lea Michele really knows how to make the most of her mane. This pony & pomp combo is a great example of how she can rock a red carpet event with a simple yet very effective style. The volume helps to make the overall silhouette more interesting than that of a regular ponytail while drawing extra attention to her eyes and cheekbones.
Again, this look is totally imitable at home. Blow-dry with volume mousse then tease the top of your hair and apply volumizing spray as you go. Lightly smooth the hair over and pin just below the crown of your head. Gather the rest of your hair into a pony, camouflaging the hair tie with a small section of hair. Mist with finishing spray and you're good to go.
There you have it, two great looks from two gorgeous women. Which style is your favorite?
