The current celebrity trend for half-up buns and knots has enchanted likes of Margot Robbie, Poppy Delevingne and Kate Mara to name a few, making it the next big It girl look. it's the perfect style for those lazy Saturdays when your unwashed hair isn't falling the way you like, but you don't want to totally give in with a ponytail or high chignon.

How to wear it

Pair your half knot back with boyfriend jeans, a grey marle tee and ankle boots for the ultimate casual look. Then take it to cool-girl-territory with oversized frames and a swipe of ruby red lipstick.

The best part? To recreate the look at home, this style requires minimal tools and products! So if you wear the #lazygirl badge loud and proud this 'do will soon be your new go-to.

Get the look

Step one
Starting right above your ears, section the top half of your hair using your fingers instead of a comb. Using your fingers will ensure the sections are a little unfinished and natural looking.

Step two
Hold the top section in place with one hand. Use your free hand to pull out a few strands of hair from around your face. Then create a small, center-parted section of hair that you can tuck behind your ears.

Step three
With the remaining hair, twist it in a circular motion to create a messy top knot. Secure with a couple of bobby pins of an elastic.

Step four
Mist the body of your hair with extra strength hairspray for added shine and hold to complete the look.
