Step one
After washing and conditioning your hair, remove excess moisture with a jersey or microfiber towel to keep your strands smooth.

Step two
Apply a smoothing heat protectant throughout, then blow-dry it. As you dry, use your hands to twist sections of hair, creating soft waves.

Step three
Once the hair is dry, use a tail comb to create a side part. Start on the side with the most hair and begin French braiding toward the back, leaving your bangs, or a few small pieces of hair at the front, loose. Once you've reached the nape of the neck, braid to the end of the hair and secure with a clear hair tie.

Step four
Repeat step three on the other side. Once you've got two braids at the nape of the neck, shape them into a low bun, using as many bobby pins as needed to secure it.

Step five
Pull extra wisps of hair from behind the ears and the side of the face loose to create a softly tousled finish. Mist your completed style all over with hairspray to eliminate flyaways and keep frizz at bay.
