Blake Lively is a real hairstyle inspiration powerhouse! The L'Oréal Paris spokesperson just keeps pulling of one gorgeous look after another and she was spotted this week with a messy half-up style. Full of disheveled matte waves, it was something of a departure from the sleek, vintage styles she's been wearing lately. Perfect for balancing out an ultra-polished ensemble or for tying a more laid-back look together, artfully mussed tresses are a must-try look.
If you would like to recreate this chaotic yet controlled style on your own mane, all you have to do is follow the tutorial below...
If you don't want to use heat tools, this tutorial is actually so easy you can do most of it in your sleep... literally. Scrunch a generous amount of salt spray through your hair then pin your hair up into two loose buns before you hit the hay.
If time is of the essence, you can use a mist of Curl Enhancing Spray and a curling iron to speed up the wave making process.
Shake out your hair and finger-comb. Then, spray it again and scrunch the ends. Next, back-comb your tresses to create that slightly fluffy, matte finish, focusing on the top and mid-lengths while leaving the wavy ends alone for the most part.
Loosely gather the top layers back and pin into a half-up 'do. Tease a few small pieces of hair loose at the front to frame your face then spray the whole style with more salt spray. Scrunch the wavy ends with your hands one last time and you're good to go!
What do you think? Will you be stealing Blake's [hair]style anytime soon?
