New York Fashion Week always brings with it lots of beauty and hairstyle inspiration. We spotted both of these short, edgy styles on the DKNY runway and couldn't decide which we love more, so we're leaving the choice up to you! A micro-bob or a daring mohawk- which style do you like best?
The bob hairstyle is often equated with the Roaring Twenties, the time period it was conceived, but isn't just for flappers anymore! It has since become a timeless classic and a favorite among it-girls everywhere. Even more, it's been modified into a versatile cut that can be worn short, long, straight, or curled.
It's no surprise then that it would show up on the runway at NYFW. The length of this bob, a micro version of the chin-length classic, immediately draws the eye toward the model's perfectly sculpted cheekbones and gorgeous eye makeup. While the style can be cut at a tapered angle to create ales harsh shape, this model is sporting a bob with quite blunt ends that offer an edgy quality.
The look feels familiar, but fresh, and can easily be dressed up for a night out or down for a subtle everyday look.
A brave new world
Up until recently, mohawk hairstyles were usually reserved for the more wild among us, however they, too, have been modified to become more versatile. While the faux-hawk and faux-undercut have risen in popularity recently, this look requires commitment. But then, they do say "Fortune favors the bold."
Soften up the look by keeping length and volume at the top of the head and opting for wax or putty over gel for styling.
Both of these short styles are versatile and ultra-cool. While the bob might be more practical, the mohawk has an edge that can't be beat. What's your favorite look?
