Barbara Palvin's take on the ponytail
From the article : Barbara Palvin's take on the ponytail
Barbara Palvin always looks fantastic, and is known for her sense of fashion and beauty creativity – always surprising us with her edgy makeup and enviable hairstyles. Take, for example, the ponytail she wore to Paris Fashion Week. Not just any old ponytail – which would have been boring – but an cool tousled ponytail with a small bouffant giving her volume and texture. This style looks great for any occasion: it would look just as good in a job interview as in a more relaxed environment.
So, if you hair is shoulder length or longer, and you're looking for a way of making an average ponytail more exciting, here's our simple tutorial...
1/ You'll need:
2/ Step one
Start with damp hair and apply a wave-creating spray from root to tip. Take a section of hair and twist it like a rope. Hold it in this position, and blow-dry it. Repeat this all all your hair, and once you've finished every section, use your fingers to break up the twists by combing through gently, just like you would do if you were creating beach waves.
3/ Step two
Massage the top of your scalp up to the forehead with your fingertips to give yourself some natural volume, and tease at the roots with a comb if you want even more height, but leave the sides perfectly smooth and flat.
4/ Step three
Pull your hair back into a ponytail, making sure the sides are tighter than the top, which should be left a bit looser for the volume. Secure it halfway up the back of your head with the elastic, and use the bobby pins for any rogue flyaways.
Top tip: For an extra touch of chic, take a section from the ponytail and use it to wrap around the base of the ponytail to disguise the elastic.
5/ Step four
Apply a good spritz of hairspray to the palms of your hands, rub them together, then flatten the sides of your head again. A last all-over spray will make sure your style isn't going anywhere you're not!
Finish with one final all-over mist of hairspray and you're done!
