We're not happy to point out the following... but it's back to school time (sobs). Sadly, the summer is coming to an end and it's time to start preparing for a new semester, however much you don't really want to. On top of all the other things you need to organize, you may be wondering what should you do with your hair.
Above, you'll find five looks that draw inspiration from the runway and the red carpet to help you start the school year in style. All you need to do is scroll through and get inspired!
1. Sleek ponytail
If you're into fuss-free beauty, try a sleek pony like L'Oréal Paris spokesperson and Victoria's Secret angel Barbara Palvin. To get the look, by apply a straightening cream throughout then run a flat iron through the lengths of your hair. Pull it all up into a smooth, high pony and tie. To finish, spray your whole style with a finishing spray to add shine and eliminate any flyaways.
2. Braided crown
Braided crowns might look super intricate and complicated to style but they really aren't once you've practiced the technique a couple of times. We have a tutorial right here to help you get the look, just don't forget the hairspray!
3. Braided bun
This style is the epitome of pretty yet practical updos. If you're into sports or just prefer your hair when it's up and out of the way, this could be the perfect style for you. To recreate the look, brush your hair through then secure it into a smooth pony. Braid the pony all the way down to the ends then wind it into a bun and pin. Complete the look with a veil of finishing spray and you're all set!
4. Twisted chic
Why not take a leaf out of Zoe Saldana's book and try a cute twisted chignon? This style has an almost fairytale quality to it and it's another 'do that is surprisingly easy to, well, do! Make it your own by twisting a large chunk of hair from the hairline by your temple towards the back of your head. Add more hair as you go then pin the twist. Repeat on the other side then pin the rest of your hair into a low chignon. Alternatively, you can recreate a simpler version of this look with a stretchy headband. Complete this updo with a strong-hold finishing spray to make sure it lasts all day long.
5. Low knot
Incorporate this season's tousled phenomenon into your back-to-school look with an artfully mussed low knot. All you need to do is dishevel your tresses by applying a wave enhancing spray and blow-drying in large twisted chunks. Then, gather your hair and twist it into a low knot. Pull some pieces loose from both the knot and around your hairline, and finish with hairspray.
What do you think? Which style will you go for on your first day back at school?
