Tousled braid

If you're looking for a hairstyle that's flattering on anyone and with any attire, look no further than this tousled braid. Whether you have a wedding, night out or a workout to prepare your mane for, this simple style has you covered.

To find out how to get the look, just follow the tutorial below.

Get the look

Step one
Starting with damp hair, apply a wave creating spray evenly throughout. Then, loosely twist a large section and blow-dry it completely. Repeat this process until all of your hair has been twisted and dried, then shake your fingers through it to reveal a headful of loose waves.

Step two
Next, apply a volume enhancing spray to your roots and massage your scalp with your fingertips. This will lift the hair and make it appear more full-bodied. If you feel your locks are still a little flat at this point, tease the hair on top and at the crown before moving on to the next step.

Step three
Loosely braid your hair all the way down to the ends and tie. For added romance, you could try a French braid technique, starting halfway down the back of your head.

Step four
If any large pieces of hair fall out, pin them down. Then, to loosen the braid, gently pull it apart and roll it between the palms of your hands.

Step five
For added texture, warm a small amount of putty on your fingertips and muss the braid, top and sides of your head a little more. When you're done, complete the look with hairspray. That's it!
