Who doesn't love a good retro hairstyle inspired by the 1950s? Known as a period of experimentation, the Fifties conjure up images of Hollywood glamour. So why not inject a little glamour into your life, with a retro hairstyle?! This one is reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe's famous curls, so you know you're onto a good thing.
Mid-length curls are a classic red carpet look, but recently they've also been seen more and more on the runway, which means there are more reasons than ever to try this pin-up style 'do.
1/ You'll need
Wide-barreled curling iron
2/ Step one
Apply a volumizing mousse throughout wet hair, and use a tail comb to separate hair into a side part.
3/ Step two
Use you barrel brush when blow-drying to create a smooth, sleek texture. Ideally, attach an air concentrator to your blow-dryer and dry in a downwards direction.
4/ Step three
Using a large curling iron, curl the hair section by section. While the curls cool, pin them up in order to maintain their shape and making styling the rest of your hair easier.
5/ Step four
When your curls have cooled, release them from the pins and comb through them very gently with your fingers. Move them into the position you want and then use some strong hairspray to lock you 'do into place.
Top tip: For even more volume, tease the roots then softly comb over for a smooth finish.
